Our primary purpose as an organization is to promote municipal policies that support local conservation efforts in the greater Wake Forest area. By working directly with elected officials, public agencies and other organizations, we hope to convey our overarching goal of preserving, protecting and enhancing the natural environment for the benefit of existing and future residents, visitors and the other species that live here.

Why the oak and the chickadee? These two species embody the heroic strength and tender dependance that our world finds itself in on a microscopic neighborhood level. These small but mighty creatures serve as a reminder that we can find ways to support the world around us, and our policies and decisions made at the state and local level need to reflect these delicate but vital creatures.
